Looks super Ash. The red paint and the way in which you did it looks really rich and vibrant. Tom H

Thanks all,

I still hate to cover the wood , but since the person it is for said it had to be done I was stuck. But I think they will enjoy it.

To paint or not to paint, always seems to be a major decision. I don't know whether, in this case, the right choice was made; but, one thing is for sure, it resulted in a first class carving!

I hope some of my paint jobs result in my being able at least say, "I did not want to paint it; but, at least it turned out OK." Your Santa is excellent work and far above "OK". Congratulations!

Great job Ash. I knew you had it in you to paint and now you probably have it on you also.

Thanks all,

The Santa was well accepted , He liked it so well he asked to have the others painted. So now I have to go get paint I guess I will try plastic paint since the last one was done in oils and there is no time left to wait on the oil paint to dry, at least not between now and Christmas .

grumble grumble grumble .....
