 Re: Force to Paint Hi Ash, great looking little santa, and good job on the paint too. When, I'm working on a carving I always start thinking whether to paint or not to paint. For some reason, and I think it's the wood itself I can't bring myself to paint Cottonwood or Butternut. The only reason I can think of is the wood grain and color are so pretty in each of the woods. Where as, basswood is pretty, but not much grain shows. So, Basswood is the wood I like to paint over. Kathy
