yes kathy, that is also better what i had cut first, thanks :-) i have however today already changed that area in a different way, since i not saw your post earlier. i put the lower part of the stem behind the leave which is flowing to the side... i will show soon, and i hope you like my solution too. thanks again for your thoughts, very appreciated :-)
oh, btw, i regrinded my new #5 tools, to make them a tad bullshaped and a little bellied, i had forgotten that. now it carves much cleaner without me doing different :-)

it goes slowly, but here are new progress pics. both show same, but under different lightning situation, the first shows better the lower leaves i have now carved, the second shows better the leaves in the top left of foto i have finished... suggestions for possible improvements are welcome :-) ... |
