| | Re: flower Hi Doris .this is what I meant a while ago ,just do it ,don't take patterns or cutouts ,just a piece of wood and go ahead you proofed that, how beautiful it turned out and leaving it natural too ,good for you ,it looks great, just my style too. Keep having those inspirations and just an afternoon playing with wood. I just wished I could use handtools it would be so much more connected with the wood.
Thanks for sharing your story and your beautiful piece of work

| | Re: flower hi thank you all. yes flower carving is so fun :-) ... yes, alice, that is my way too. i cant work from pattern, find it too restrictive. and the flowers left so much place to play, i very enjoyed...only it took more than just an afternoon, i am a very slow carver. i dont mind that though, this way i do have more fun :-) |

| | Re: flower Doris that's great! Now, sign your name in the lower left corner on the untouched part, and you have a masterpiece to hang on your wall! You have me thinking to try the same thing, but single flowers, for pins especially with Spring right around the corner! Thanks!

BTW--I remembered I had this photo of a Rose of Sharon that grew in my front yard.

| | Re: flower Ha - and I was wondering what you were doing since we did not see an update on your Mary Poppins in a while!! I can see how you got caught in carving the flowers, this is one of the pieces you will enjoy every time you look at it. Very nice and the butterfly is a great touch.
