| | *Flash* Update on the mushrooms Goodmorning gang,
News update on the mushrooms. Spent most of the day yesterday getting rid of the WHITE mushrooms, sanded them down and now they are brown the way she wanted them. I have also had to carve another mushroom as she didnt like the one with the straight stem. I have attatched a picture of the white one now brown and I took Hi-Ho's advice and did a different shape to the top of the mushroom. He suggested I paint the top yellow with red spots. Hell no! if she didnt like white I can just imagine he reaction to red and yellow . Will be working on them most of the day as I have to deliver them by noon tomorrow. I will update this thread as I go just in case you have some more good advice that I didnt take last time. I know the stems are too thick but thats the only way to get the woodspirit into them and have them stand on their own.

| | Re: *Flash* Update on the mushrooms Yes Colin, I like the reshaped mushroom.
Now, if the lady doesn't like that one, then she is plum crazy for sure. |

| | Re: *Flash* Update on the mushrooms They are so cool Colin. I don't see how you get up under the top with a chainsaw. I like the new shape of the top too, and the idea of spots, but probably not for this client.
Please take photos of them in place in the garden when you deliver them.
Congrats on getting through a tough commission.

The stem isn't too thick. As I posted in your last update, the stem on one of the mushroom I found was 2" thick and the cap was about 1/2" to an 1" bigger. The cap was like the one sitting on your truck in the picture you posted. The stem was straight--not tapered. And the mushroom was pure white. I hadn't see one like that before, but I guess it happens. |

| | Re: *Flash* Update on the mushrooms I like them both colin! The one on the right, I would trim off some on the bottom left side..at least in the picture it looks a bit to wide right at the bottom, maybe contour the stem to follow the lines of the face? but then pictures are deceiving too? might be fine in person |

| | Re: *Flash* Update on the mushrooms Just finished up the mushrooms just one more coat of stain and we are ready to go. You bet I will be nervous until I get there tomorrow. These are both carved out of eastern white cedar and stand about 2 1/2 feet tall.

| | Re: *Flash* Update on the mushrooms I love them! I think they are perfect now, at least perfect for my garden. I also love the size for the stem.. and the color. Like we say, if she doesn't like them now, she is , well you know what! Charlotte |

As far as I am concerned .. well she missed the boat , the 2 toned shrooms are awesome , these well they just don't have the same impact but that is all in opinion.
