I love it! I would be proud to give that carving away. My son has been begging me for a carving of a buck. Two weeks ago he got a 10 point, one of the bigest deer harvested in South Georgia, he now wants a wood carving of it to remember it by.....

Give it with pride.

IMP I think you have done very well! You have captured the idea of shadowing...undercutting and it's going to be proudly accepted and displayed! Fun learning isn't it?

Looks great Daddio, Course I saw it in the beginning stages. LOL, Looked good then too. Forgot to tell ya, I might have some Poplar, and Italian Cedar coming through a friend. I think It's called Italian cedar.... Says it has a some tight grain..

Those are both beautiful carvings! It's always cool to see what others saw in a piece of wood...if that makes sense....you know what I mean....
