| | first pic posting-chair back completed Not sure if I can get the pic up...any size requirements? If this works, it will be the back of a chair I did for a local cabinet maker. Relief carving of a celtic knot/linen fold reproduction. The owner had a table and three chairs-wanted a fourth chair. I happened to walk in his shop while he was figuring out how to carve it, and took it on for a couple of bucks. Hopefully more projects will come through him in the future! |

| | Re: first pic posting-chair back completed Wow, great job.....looks like oak??? How much fun was that!!! I know oak is hard wood. We put up wainscoating and chair rail in our dinning room years ago and had to pre drill every nail hole because it was so hard that it would split the wood if it wasn't pre drilled. Love the way oak looks, hate to work with it..... Looks great though.

| | Re: first pic posting-chair back completed Yes, it's oak, and it was a curved piece to boot. I really didn't mind it too much, honestly. It's not basswood, that's for sure! Thanks for your comments, everyone. |
