| | First carving ever I've carved small item like little men and even golfballs, none of which has ever come out right, but this my first attempt to really carve seriously.
I found out about woodspirits on line and fell in love with them so i had to try one. I used a small peice of pin cherry, the only thing i had on hand, and boy is it tough.
Any comments are welcome.
Thanks

| | Re: First carving ever Excellent first carving, and cherry although holding detail is one of the hardest woods I have ever tried to carve. Well done , looking forward to seeing your next attempt.

| | Re: First carving ever To tell you the truth Ash, and in responce to your post in my welcoming, this is a door knocker and only about 12 inches long. I couldn't get the whole thing in the pic and still get the detail, sorry.
But any who, thanks for the nice words and with words like those i'll only strive to get better.

| | Re: First carving ever Michael, Very nice wood spirit! Knox County, you're a neighbor! Keep carving and post your work. If you're interested, we have a nice little group that gets together each Tuesday AM to carve, whittle, and solve the worlds problems. I guess you'd have to be retired for middle of the week day time stuff. Tom H |

| | Re: First carving ever Nice carving, Michael. That "wood" make a dandy nightstick for your local beat cop! I had the late snow take down my pincherry tree....maybe I'll try a hunk of that for a stick....hmmmmm.
Anyway a big WELCOME!
