Default First attempt at a face..

I've only been carving two weeks now. I'm using a dremel 4000. I had done a few pieces with just letters and a couple logos. I then had a wild idea to try and do a face. The guys face I wanted to carve was my best friend who passed away a few months ago. I think it turned out well for my first attempt. I'm trying to do another one that will debut at the Terlingua International Chili Championship in two weeks. It will be the centerpiece of a memorial to honor Bruce. I'll be sure to post pics here of my progress. Learning something new every day....well, make that every hour haha.

Welcome,
First attempt and a figure is risky, but for a first attempt I'd say it's pretty good. The more you do the more you will learn and the better you will get. Keep practing and sharing.

It turned out EXCELLENT for your first attempt, you should be proud. You captured his likeness very well. I'm sorry you lost your friend, but your carving is a great way to honor him.
