Default Finished the mask today

Well the carving anyway…

I had today off so I spent about 7 hours finishing the Native American mask today now I need to figure out how I want to finish it

I think I’ll let it sit a few days and give it some time before I tackle it.

Tony, that's a awesome carving, well done, and I'm sure the finish you decide on will be just as awesome. That's one piece to be very proud of, looking forward to see more of your work!

Once the finish gets into the grain of that carving, the features should really stand out. Your patients certainly paid off. I'm getting ready to carve a Native American Indian into some poplar I have in the shop. I ruffed out some drawings from the various carvings in Jeff's book.

That's a beautiful and expressive carving Tony. Wish I could do work like that. Good stern face and expressive eyes. Very well done! Thanks for showing him to us.. Charlotte

The composition of the piece is terrific. All of the lines flow to frame as well as enhance the piece. The empty space is a nice counterbalance to the weight of the face and "hat" allowing your mind to fill in the rest and the musculature is very well done.Again , a fine piece of carving.
