They started as 3/4 by 6 inch blocks, I cut a bunch before I got laid up so as to have something to do on recuperating. Bear in mind, the hats are 2 1/2 inches so it leaves a small face area to carve. Yes that is the phone, I bought one of those large carver aprons and I've got it thumb tacked on my desk, the wall and the window and when I slip my head in, no chips and momma is happy. Gotta keep peace in the old homestead for sure.

Yes its important to keep mommy happy cause if you don't then she might lock you and your knives in a closet with no lights and tell you to carve in there. One thing buddy , would really like a picture of you wearing that apron , I'm having trouble forming a mental picture |

I didnt reconize the turorial one because even though it's from a picture .. you got your own style in it and thats great ..
