Hi Dale, what did you use to stain him with? I like the expression on his face. Wanda

Nice Job Wisard. The proportioning is so good that without a reference point, you can't guess at the size. Well done.

I searched for a long time to come up with the mission furniture I am trying to build until finally I started mixing some different colors. This real simply is minwax chestnut brown mix about 30-50% minwax red chestnut. On the furniture I now dye the wood brown first, sand it off, and then use this mixture. I really really like it. You can go more brown or red depending on the ratio. And many thanks for all the priceless feedback. Sidenote. A lady walked up to me as I was resanding this piece and asked me if I gave lessons. I said, er, uh, gee, I never thought about it. She wants her artistic son to learn how to carve. I told her to let me think about it. Crap, I don't even know how to do this myself let alone teach someone. Here is a knife and a couple gouges, remove everything that doesn't look like what you are trying to carve? dale
