Default Elk update

There is still a lot of work to do but here he is so far. Head not done, feet, base and all the rest to do. Oh yeah, antlers to make.

Hey Nancy, I'm very very impressed, that is going to be an awesome Elk!
one thing you might want too do is make the antlers out of cherry, or some sort of hard wood that doesn't snap off so easy
Stacey, oh did say that I was impressed?Thumbs Up

Your work is amazing. I really like this pc. I love natural settings and your choice of Rocks with the antlers laying beside is excellent. I look forward to seeing the progress.

Whoooooo-eeeee that's a nice looking Elk! Keep up the great work, he's coming right along! What are his dimensions.....it looks like a pretty big carving?

Nancy, this is a magnificent piece as it is. I am sure that it will be far more dramatic when you put the antlers on him. But, I like it the way it is......with the sheds laying beside him on the mountain. Can't think of ever having seen a carving showing that phase of elk life. How do you intend to finish him? Very, very, good!

I agree with Paul. The antlers laying on the ground really make a statement of the life cycle of the elk.

Looking great!
