| | Eagle cane and rudder. Now for something completely different! (Poor old Monty Python...and aquired taste) Here we have the Bald Eagle Cane I just finished. My first attempt at a painted head, (I think I'll stick to just carved and oiled) but seeing as it is a Bald Eagle, it has to be white. The other is my return to the model of the Marco Polo. Just finished the rudder so I thought I would post this little bit to show you I haven't forgotten the ship.

I like the color it is now. Natural would have worked out too, because your detail magic just yells "EAGLE".

| | Re: Eagle cane and rudder. What a great idea for the top of a cane / short walking stick.
What type of wood did you use that is strong enough?
Thanks,

| | Re: Eagle cane and rudder. Excellent eagle Bob I like it just the way it is but I can also see how it would look great painted as well. You have to please yourself and nobody else. I am also in awe of that rudder and the plans to build the ship that rudder looks as if it were part of the blue print excellent job.

| | Re: Eagle cane and rudder. Great job Bob, you have infinite patience. Has the dust settled down yet?? I'd like to see the construction of that handle sometime. Is the Marco Polo built entirely from a blue print?? |

| | Re: Eagle cane and rudder. As usual Bob that is outstanding work. It makes me want to try it but I need to get a little bit better before I try that one.
One of the owners of the company I work for would die to have that Eagle cane - he's nuts about eagles. |

| | Re: Eagle cane and rudder. I'm glad you like the Eagle, I always wanted to try one. It turned out pretty good. The wood is Walnut, hard and strong.
Hugh...the ship is completely from the draught/plan. A copy of the plan found in the New Brunswick Museum, in Saint John. It is scaled down to 1/8" = 1' or 1:96. She sure is pretty!!!
Lindy....if your boss is the owner of the company, then he can afford to make me an offer!
