Ugly...I guess that's my que. Super carving. I've always been hesitant to try drift wood as I heard that sand and grit get into the wood grain which can dullen the carving blade. Any truth to that or am I just hearing from a narrow few who had this happen to them?

A lot of truth to that statment on driftwood Patrick, but nothing ventured, nothing gained. Just helps in learning to sharpening knives or gouges.
A lot of wood going to waste if we didn't use driftwood.

Chuck, once in a while I come up with a good carving. Now the rest of the story is to come up with another one.
