| | Re: Dragon cane progress Spent some time on detailing the head, scales, beginning with small plates around the nose and going to overlaping plates as the head gets larger. LOts of work to do yet, defining the edges. Looking more like a dragon should!

| | Re: Dragon cane progress There you go! You're heading (pun intended) in a great direction. That's what I was hoping you would do. Once you establish a theme or rythm you can't go wrong continuing it . This is looking really neat! |

| | Re: Dragon cane progress Bob... Your work makes me want to take my cane that I'm working on and donate it to the next bar-b-que! That dragon is really coming along nice.

| | Re: Dragon cane progress Had to stop, I just ran out of gas, or things to burn/shade. The shading just hit me, something to set off the eyes, a darker background would make them stand out. Make the teeth look sharper too, I think. I'm happy with the result, but wouldn't know for sure till I put the oil finish to it. Will brighten up the wood some.
Have to rest some now so I can smooth the shaft prior to oiling in the morning. It certainly is an evil looking thing!

The finish is applied, end carved, rubber tip installed and this is the end result. I wouldn't bore you with any more pictures. LOL
