Default Don't Worry - Be Happy!

I guess as we get older the holiday season affects us in different ways. We recently received a card from an old and dear friend that sounded a little down in the dumps so I carved this little guy to see if I could cheer her up.

It's 6-1/2" x 2" x 2" basswood painted with acrylics and finished with WB satin poly. It's the basic bear pattern that I've used on other projects but I try to make each one just a little different. I figure that if I carve enough of these bears one of these days I'll get pretty good at it...or not!

It looks to me like you are already pretty good at it. Nice carving. I am sure your friend will love it.

Eddy, I have used the water based poly on furniture and it always seems to look colder than the solvent based. Do you notice that on your carvings?

Thanks,
Bob

Looks good Eddy! It is true that the holidays affect us all in different ways, particularly if the year hasn't been so kind.

Thanks for the pic--and keep on carving--you don't need the practice, but people need your good cheer!

Nice carving Eddy, and just as nice a gesture. I thinks real friends recognize when one needs a little lift or boost. This is something I need to do, more of...TomH
