Default Dolmon Table

hallo all
just thought id post my first carving in here its actually a table but carving involved all done in english yew timber nearly there with it alot of sanding yet to do and then the finishing touches any tips on should i use sealer and varnish or wax etc?

Your not only a good carver but handy as well. A mallet in my hand may be OK but put a hammer and some carpender tools near me....well let's just say I'm pathetic so I don't even try. You have some unique looking woodwork on that table - well done.

OK, so that's gorgeous. I am not familiar with the term "dolmon" so could you educate me please. I love the knotwork on the verticals, but including them in the tusks for the mortise joints was brilliant.
Great piece of wood on top too! The finish will no doubt bring it to life! '
Pierce work is a whole new dimension to carving, and you've got a real talent for it.

How is the top attached to the legs?

the top is housed over the legs then glued and screwed from the side under and plugged with pegs for effect
