Tips, Tips, and more tips, that's what I wanted people and I got me few. Well, I did make a change, actually a significant one. I gave that little guy a bath in puritan pine stain and that did the trick for me. I'm now satisfied with him. I now have to spray him with some deft. I also have a couple others almost finished so I'll post them all together in a couple days. Thanks for looking to all.

Hey Tucker, he looks great, very well carved. My only recommendation would be to 'pink' up his cheeks lightly (and I mean his facial cheeks of course) tee hee
I love the flat plane carvings, must add one to my 'to do list' it's getting longer and longer. LOL
Gene Messer, has those super tutorials need to try one.
