| | Dads Pheasant Well this is a work in progress that got pressed into service a little before it was done. I will explain. I stated carving this Pheasant about a year ago. My Dad was sick and I was going to save it and put it away for many years from now for funeral display. Well I couldn't get myself to finish it. And he passed. Well I decided I would finish it for Memorial Day and place it at his grave site.
Anyway here's the unfinished project sans the legs and ready to go.
I have learned pheasants are very hard to carve

| | Re: Dads Pheasant Gergie, WOW, I think you are doing really well with the carving. I'm sorry to hear your dad passed, I'm sure you must miss him. Just maybe he will be able to look down from heaven and see what you have done for him in his memory and I'll just bet he will be smiling when he sees it. All the best to you and yours.

| | Re: Dads Pheasant Excellent thought and workmanship, however people being what they are anymore, I am afraid someone would just help themselves to it! How about a small memorial garden at your home? |

| | Re: Dads Pheasant Really nice job Gergie. I am certain your father's spirit will be smiling down on you from above when you place it. What a beautiful way to remember your father this weekend.

| | Re: Dads Pheasant Tell you what,Gergie,I've hunted many pheasants and you have carved the splitting image of all the low flights of the one's I missed. Excellant tribute to your Dad's memory, I also agree with Hi Ho Silver, a small memorial in your garden will always remind you of the wonderful things your Dad did for you.

| | Re: Dads Pheasant I agree with the others that your Dad is smiling down from Heaven and is very pleased with you, and so is the Lord for honoring your Dad. I wouldn't leave it at the grave sight though. That's a good to have a memorial spot at your place. Bless you, your Dad will always be with you. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
