| | Cypress knee smile Thought this would be a fun project. As I progress I plan on using wood burning in the beard.
I will let this rest for a few days, tired of sharpening my tools every 5 minutes!

| | Re: Cypress knee smile And a jolly good fellow he is becoming!
I usually glaze the hair on the bears I've been carving which really enhances the appeal after stain is applied. Woodburning in the beard should also work well.
Looking forward to the progress after a well deserved rest! |

Cypress knees are fun to carve,as they have so much caricature, but your right you have to keep buffing those tools. |

| | Re: Cypress knee smile Here is a progress picture. The hair and beard actually look a lot better than the picture shows! Hate taking a flash, does not do the work justice.
Just a little more to do.

| | Re: Cypress knee smile Here is the finished carving. Just a little heavy on the color, oh well live and learn. I like how the beard turned out.
