Default Cypress Gnome

I haven't been a good member for a long while cause i haven't been sharing. Well my momma taught me better than that so here is My gnome i'm working on. I've had this knee for about a year and could never see anything in it, till three days ago.

My wife thinks i'm nuts but you, my friends and fellow carvers, will back me on this one. The wood TALKS to you. Am i right?

Michael, I like your gnome and got a laugh from both your's and Brians post. You may have something going there with the wife, but are we to also respond to who's nuts? Joke - joke! My wife says we have a lot of laughter in our marriage, but I tease, its mostly at me! By the way, my piece I'm carving now may be speaking--firewood! Its gettin close to that too. Thanks for posting, Earl

Sometime my wood not only talks to me it uses language that I can't use on this site. I'm working on a small dragon coming out of an egg and it spent yesterday calling me all kind of nasty names.

don't know about speaking...but I definitely think that the wood has a shape that it wants to be cut in. I love carving on a peice of wood and let it take its own shape. I'm with you on this one.

Hi Michael,

That gnome is coming along very nicely. You're doing a good job listening. I've got a couple of Cypress knees chit chatting but have been too busy to listen to them.
