Default A Cross for a Special Young Lad

Very good friends of mine, just lost their son to teen suicide, and I wanted to do something for them
this cross is very plain, nothing fancy, still need more sanding and such , and stain-

please let me know what you think - is it too plain, do I need to add something to it and what colour of stain would look best on it
it is from basswood

thanks for looking and any feedback
Elaine

That is very sad to hear, I would suggest something like puritain pine or golden oak, this would give it a nice glow.

I think I would not carve more on it. Sometimes simple is better? It's very beautiful the way it is. Blessings to your friends family.

I think it is perfect. It's great to see you using the gifts given you to bless others.

May the Lord give them peace that passes all understanding.

I agree sometimes simple is better and just as profound. I agree with Keoma I think it is beautiful just as it is. I also second what Jjireh said. Thank you for your loving-kindness.

Wonderful job!
if the cross is not meant to stand on it's own, I would match the bottom of the cross to the other ends.

Elaine , I can't think of a nicer jesture for your friends. The cross will be an ever present reminder to call upon the Lord for strength in the days ahead.
I like it just as is. I think the golden oak would look good also.
Bless you for being such a caring friend.

Elaine, it's the thought that counts and in this case it comes from the heart. God bless you and your friends.

many many thanks for the kind words
a little bit more sanding to do and I think I will go with the puritan pine, I tested the stain on a piece of wood and really liked the colour

thank-you
