Yep, they have several...but you have to make reservations "early"....the last two years, one, we waited too long, and this year forgot about it! .. also you can do a google of Creede Woodcarvers I believe and it will bring up the info you want......right now I am sure its for this years meeting, but will be upgraded soon I imagine. hummm or is it "Creede Rendeveous?"

Wow! Beautiful job Kathy. LOVE the woodburned irises. Neat touch. I am so totally envious of your getting to study with Mark. One of these days I have to make it out west for this event, just so I can take his class too.

Adding the link again, just in case you missed Marks post with the link. It's
http://www.creedewoodcarvers.com/ and on the site there is a link to 'Lodgeing'. The current Creed Woodcarver site is still showing the 2007 year, but check it often for 2008. Dave is right you need to sign-up as soon as you see the 2008 year. I signed up for Marks class months in advance, and his class was one of the first to fill up quickly.
Also RV, cabins, motels fill up fast in Creede, so I would recommend you secure your lodging at the same time you sign up.
The Creed Woodcaver's are great folks to work with and make every attempt to grant your wishes for the class/classes you want.
Kathy
Dave and others hope you can go next year, there is a really nice RV Park just before you go into Creede. I'll get the name from some of our RV club carvers who stayed there. We had to stay in South Fork, which made it about a 30-40 minute drive each morning one-way from our cabin where we stayed. We could have stayed closer but were limited to places that would accept dogs. We travel with our Jack Russell Terrier K.T.
Anyway hope I can go again next year too!
Kathy

ChuckT, thank you! I hope you will get a chance to take a class with Mark, you won't be disappointed! Here is the link again http://www.creedewoodcarvers.com/ which is the 2007 info. It also shows the teachers and sample of their work.

It's an hard ore mine I believe it's silver, but don't quote me on the silver part. There are tours of the mine both guided and self guided with headphones. Creede is a really interesting place with lots of history. My hubby and dog toured the area while I was in class for two days.

Kathy....GREAT job that mountain man....lots of character in that face and I think a lot of it has to do with the depth of the cuts you made.....eyes are wonderful, too....good job! Bonnie

Hi Bonnie, love your bucking horse and air-borne cowboy Avatar.
Thank you, for the nice compliment. At first I was very timid about really gouging in the depth, but Mark encouraged me not to be timid about removing wood. Getting that depth in all the important areas is very important and sets the lean character of this subject.

Kathy

It could be lead, as I hear the instructors are constantly saying " Get the Lead Out!"
