| | Cowboy carving This guy stands about 10" tall and carved from a roughout purchased from Bishops Woodcarving. Very nice wood to carve! Just finished him a week ago. Painting has always been a bummer for me, may just dip the carvings in BLO and let it go at that.
Thanks for looking! Merry Christmas. |

| | Re: Cowboy carving Looks good to me, Bill. I see not much wrong with your painting. Maybe a bit splotchy on the open grain parts. Might try a pre-stain before you paint.

| | Re: Cowboy carving Classic cowboy pose with the big ole grin, grizzled face, and red bandana. Looks like he don't have a lick of meaness in his blood while out on the cattle drive, but instead he's dreaming about that monthly trip into town where he's gonna "whup it up" at the Long Branch Saloon. Looks like my kinda cow driving partner! |

Good job. Looks to me like you spent your winter improving your carving skills.
