Default A Congress Santa

Here's a new Santa that I am doing with the Congress in mind,if it turns out.I'll try and keep the site up on the progress.
the pictures are as follows:
A.) The first is a manequin(thanks to the templets that Lynn makes),I was able to make one for a Santa.
B.)A drawing of the Manequin
C.) And a Basswood cut out,the first one I did I attached the arms, this one I am going to carve them on.

mark,

i like the idea of using the paper mannikin, especally how the arms and leg scale come in, different poses "for me" I tend to stray as i get to thinking about the shortened muscles and how much bulge to add, which results in too fat or skinny limbs
this style manikin dont flex or bulge but still gives a quite reasonable likeness with only a little tuning.. it fits within the caracature catigory. i think

Q: do you make the wood arms and/or leggs of some of your carvings out of a seporate piece and then attach them?...

from your picts i noticed the screws in yours, next time your in a craft store look in the leather section, they have grommets for lacing, there 2 part some plastic some metal, the plastic ones just snap togather, usually reusable the metal ones have to be set with a hammer...

if you cant find um let me know ill send ya some of the metal ones i have,
for clairity and benifit of others reading...

Left}ready to set after paper was put between
center} long inside
right} short other half
to set assemble long grommet through product and put the top/short grommet on so they are on each side, using something to flair the inside so it meets the outter ring then its locked (they make a tool) grommet set

Thomas,
I wanted my manequins to have interchangeable parts so instead of using grommets or paper fasteners i use snaps which can be picked up cheaply at the local WalMarts sewing dept. ...just another take on this...

guess that would work just fine as well as the screws did in marks Manequin, but i would think thickness may cause some tracing difficultys...

i just hate to stop and run to the store for some little doo gadgit
