Default commission for a bar in town

Hi there,

I have been working on the designs for a bar at Shenanigan's Irish Pub in town for about 3 weeks now. Thebar has a shamrock theme going there right now, so I worked that into the designs for one of the choices, but also gave them a choice with more of a Celtic bird (meaning friendship) theme as well.

Last evening, I presented the designs to the bar owners, and they were really thrilled. I don't know which way they are going with the choices yet, but I like both designs so it won't matter to me.

This is a photo of the bar, and there will be 7 carvings total. The two columns will be mirror images of each other, the center carving of the bottom of the bar will be centered, and then 4 trinity knots in each corner. There are two carving designs taped there, but only one will be carved.

They are also open to having me paint the background of the carvings green and leave the carving itself natural wood.

I can't wait to get started. They should tell me today which way they want to go.
Christina

Hope they reward you appropriately!

Don't drink and carve, or vice versa!

Be sure to post the finished pixs. I can't wait to see the finished project.

Just a question, what kind of wood is the Bar made out of?

Looks like a fun one Christina . It is great that the owners are so excited too ! Personally I would carve them up , sit back and have a cold one with the patrons , and admire my work .

Thanks for the well wishes.
The "pay" will be monetary as well as a proportion of it being traded out in "food credit". I love the fish and chips there, so that is just fine with me.
My husband is an artist as well, and we have often dined at fine restaurants in trade for his work being hung there. This is my first food credit piece and I am looking forward to taking him out to dinner on my tab.
I still haven't heard which way they are going on the design. I will have to stop in and get an answer so I can get started this week.

Hi Christina, the design looks great and I am with you about the traded " food credit."
They get a great looking bar and you can enjoy the fish and chips! lol
