Comanche, from the Little Big Horn was a bay dun horse, complete with dorsal stripe. I was going to suggest that coloring but since that Comanche was actually a cavalry horse, the tack wouldn't be appropriate. Paint horses were not that common but were quite prized so I guess it depends on whose horse he was? Of course, with his apparent age he could have been traded off. As usual, the work is exceptional, I'm anxious to see it painted.

Hmmmm....Since the name "Comanche" seems to be causing some confusion don't be surprised if this piece shows up under a new moniker! I just picked the name out of the blue, never thinking that it was the name of Custer's horse. So.....

So long Comanche.......Hello ?????

Need a name huh? how about "He who runs the prairies with the little dogs toward the sound of the great wakantanka who tramples all who build their tents on the open prairie over the little dogs home next to the creek that runs dry"! sounds like a good indian pony name to me lol or just "lil dog" for those of you that won't stop to smell the roses ha ha

Either Apaloosa or that kind that was all small spots. Or is that another kind of apaloosa?

Great work as always, Lynn.
