Default Comanche

I posted a few photos of this fella earlier but here he is again ready to head for the paint table. I had contemplated doing a rider but with other projects in the works just don't have the time right now. There will be lots of feathers, handprints and other markings once he's done. Haven't decided on what type of horse to make him. Any suggestions?? As always, comments and suggestions welcome.

The way you can paint, I vote for an Appaloosa.

Brown on white paint for my vote! Great work, again, Lynn!

Great carving....I suggest a Mustang "paint".

Jax.

Jax....contrary to popular believe Indians also used saddles. If you look close you'll notice that they look very similar to the saddles used by the Spaniards who brought the horse to this country.

This fellow doesn't need a rider. He is perfect by himself. I don't even think he needs paint.

Great interpretation Lynn! I forget what kind of horse Comanche was, if you mean the same one I recall from the Little Big Horn battle legend. (maybe I have my wires crossed again?) I'm sure that you'll do it justice what ever way you go. Just don't make 'em and "Old Paint"! LOL

Great job! The horse looks like he has just been in battle and lost a brave warrior. I would suggest just a stain. Looks great without paint.
