Default Clubb'n barn rat's

I started roughing out the ball player that I referred to in the "animating caricatures" in the caricature carving forum. I was deeply worried that once I got started I wouldn't be able to make it look like a caricature now... I'm wondering if I'll be able to make it look like a ball player. It looks more like someone scout'n barn rat's. That might be easier to animate. ... I could have a rat runn'n a figure eight pattern with Jim Bob trying to nail him with a spiked club. That'd be fun huh?
oh! PS . C&C is more than welcome. I'm here to learn. I am a bit rusty as it's been awhile since I did anything

Either topic should make for an interesting carving!
Rat killin was the only fun part of grinding feed when I was a kid.
The only problem was being sure not to hit Chester,My fox terrier cause he liked it even more!
I don't see that your so far into this to not go either way you choose.

And where this is going to have articulating joints I have the option of redoing/ resizing and adjusting the angle of any appendages as I see fit. I just measured the forearms and found that right forearm is longer than the left so guess what I'm doing now. I had a suspicion there was going to be some adjustments right off. When I look at a picture and try to carve what see I forget to take into account that the perspective is going to hide things from me. I do better when I have a go by I think

He looks kinda like a mad ball player not a rat killer or a ball player but in between ya could take it either way.

Alright I'm sitt'n back looking at the upper arms and thinking they are way to long. Is the height of my head close enough to gauge the upper arm length. Man I'm gett'n my but kicked here

Ok, Well. ah continuing on with my monolog. It's starting to look like Venus d'Milo. Once you get all the superfluous appendages out of the way, it's real easy to make corrections and get things shaped up. Don't know why I didn't think of this sooner...yada ...yada...

Hey Elwood, why not slap a cap on his head, that would really make him look like a ball player. To me that was all you really needed. I think he looks pretty good so far.
