Default Civil War Soldier Bust

After reading the post by Keoma, about "passion in carving"; I felt I just had to stop carving and painting animals for Noah's Arks. Grabbed a piece of one inch x one inch Basswood, and whittled this little Civil War Soldier bust. The soldier is a wee bit over 1 3/4 inch tall, and mounted on a one inch wood toy wheel. Course now I got to do a Reb Soldier. This is fun stuff! Arks may only get 12 pairs of animals this year.

You know Tom? I have alot of thoughts and ideas in my head that I want to carve this and that? Rushing and pressure on something is my problem. The point Im trying to make is like this little soldier, you carve and planing on carving the rebel is what you like and enjoy thus it helps you. Ive had a a few mini's stuck in my mind awhile and thats all Im carving right now and it makes me feel better.

The pressure of wanting something right say in larger carving and the time while carving on them its good to take time for something you enjoy, like this soldier you took time to carve. Plus I may add hes super! Rebs, heheee thats me.

I'll be ckn back for that southern Rebel.

Forrest

Now you are talking Tom, Nice to get back to the fun stuff. Those large projects turn into a job, and take the fun out of carving it seems.
