Default Christmas Plant Stand

Not really a carving, but my good wife wanted something to put her Christmas Cactus plants in. I took an antique wheel barrow, removed the irons, wheel etc, cleaned them up and made a frame of oak, planked it with cedar boards, a few bolts and nuts, a little varnish and made her a plant stand. Thought I would like to show it to you.

That turned out really well. I like the old wheel.

Hugh that plant stand is a nice piece of work.I enjoyed seeing it.

I have mentioned before that my original interest in wood was making furniture and restoring antique furniture, but because of my life style i took up carving.

I always enjoy seeing pieces of furniture that someone has built themselves

Nice looking planter Hugh. Reminds me of my first car, and probably would go as fast and as far. You did that for your "good wife", what did you do for your "bad one"?

Guess it is best to leave that bad wife line alone. Usually Dave picks up on a comment like that.

Hugh, that is great, I know I'd love to have it! And guys, I'm always a 'good wife'.....although, hubby might have a different opinion on that....some days....or maybe that is some time, each day! Hmmmm, maybe I'd better not ask him. I'll just show him the neat plant holder you made your 'good wife', Hugh! Thanks for sharing it with us! Deborah

Excellent job Hugh that is a work of art in itself. I cant put two pieces of wood together so anyone that can impresses the heck out of me.
