Default Chickadees

This is my first try at doing crossed wings. Also wanted to do babies and open mouths. So, I wound up with a "flock".

I've finished one adult and mounted it just with the toes out. Next I want to mount an adult with legs and on a branch. Gotta make some legs tho. And the third adult I want to do the same but also include the babies in a group mount.

Looks like you've successfully "bred" your own flock. And you did a great job at it too, especially if these are your first. Good luck with the legs. Seems like they are kind of difficult.

We've got two lovebirds and just last night I was looking at them. One had his wings crossed in back and the other had hers side-by-side. I thought about carving them but I got to looking at their body feathers and didn't know how I would do it so I said forget it. My wife bought a figurine of a baby bird, fluffed out, wings spread, beak open. She thought it would make a good model for me to carve. Yeah, right!

HEY! I know them guys--they're always hanging around in my front yard!

Great job--I've carved ornamental chickadees and I know you put a lot more GREAT work into yours than I did in mine!

Great job on the Chickadees, they are a sweet little bird and such a joy to watch. Well done, looking forward to seeing the whole scene once you are done.
