Default Cedar Portrait

This is another portrait I did, this time I added carved feathers from Cedar shingles. I found the shingles easy to carve , I steamed them to put the curves in, with enough steam you can almost bend them anyway you want. The carving is 21' x 9 1/2" x 5" deep. I think I will use more feathers like this in the future, I'm actually going to carve a bunch of the feathers to give as gifts.

Wonderful portrait. Love the elongation of the face and how it flows into the long lines of the hair. But I especially like that you simply allowed the knot hole to exist exactly where it fell in the carving!
