Joe, I get a feeling when looking a the picture that the eye on the left which is really the right eye should be a little smaller and back a little and maybe take a liottle off of that side of the face. I have the hardest time with turned faces. I really like the carving and your doing great on the roses. Feb

Well here she is mounted to the podeum. I ran out of time. Thank you Mark and Feb for the suggestions, I tried thinning out the wrist and bringing the eye down as suggested. I used sanding sealer and paste wax to finish it. I guess the enemy of good is better so I decided to stop while I was ahead. Maybe for future carvings I'll remember the mistakes I made with this one and not make the same ones again. Thanks everyone for all your feedback! Joe

Nice job Joe. I started following and then lost track. You did a great job and the piece looks wonderful mounted on the podium. Yea - that wrist could have gone just a little thinner I think, removing just a little more from the bottom perhaps. But overall - GREAT job! I admire your courage in taking on a comission like this. Well done! Cheers ChuckT |
