| | carving knife project well i never realy carved anything i have made a few spoons but with a power carver. i want to learn to carve so my first real project was a good knife that i carved with an x-acto carving knife. i used a queen steel blade that was beyond help and ground it to the right profile. tell me what you think

| | Re: carving knife project Looks good Spoon! I made a simular one myself, using an old blade from a Scharde pocket knive, it works great!

| | Re: carving knife project Yep, looks like a right decent piece of cuttlery! Handle and blade seem well balance. The test will be how it carves, but if it's got good steel and has been sharpened well, it sure looks like it will do the job. The double rivets should really stabilize that blade, too.

| | Re: carving knife project i have only just started carving so only time will tell how good it really is. i have made quite a few spoons but with powercarvers. now all i need is a few patterns to get started and i'll be ready to start making chips. i'm glad you all liked it |
