| | Re: Carving A Horse Head Problem with step 19 fixed for me, My Workaround
Guess im too use to them step by step carving books, but if you follow whats provided in the instructions to step 19 you come up with a squair on its side on 2" stock,.
and it dont resemble the pic here http://outwestgallery.com/gallery/Ho...ead-Part-1/aal
which is a kite shape,
to achieve this i reduced each side of the face front picture by 3/8 to 1/2" each side with pencil markings from ears to nose then redraw step 19, the effect is more to the image of what lynn has.
"Would have posted photo but momma give my camera away lastnight..."
yep jim i had to tease you that you were yelling i hate them caplock buttons. they work mostly when you dont want them too

| | Re: Carving A Horse Head Awesome ( ) blog Lynn!
One question though, does the super glue inhibit the woods ability to absorb the paint? (I know you used the thin stuff which should help...) |

| | Re: Carving A Horse Head Tony.....Yes, the glue seals the surface so the paint will just set on the surface. Not a problem to a good painter like you! |

| | Re: Carving A Horse Head Alright, got that done
The only part I had trouble with was the wood burning. Tried a spade, must be a better way though, hard to make curves and the rounded turns on the neck of the main.
Curious Lynn, what woodburning tip do you use?
Love the project, thank you for posting.
