Default A Cane To "Bear" On!

I finished this one just before my latest medical trials and tribulations came on last week. It's a piece of tulip poplar that was growing out of an embankment up at my place in east Tennessee. I could have left it at walking stick length but since I use a cane decided to cut it down to cane size. It's approximately 2" in diameter by 36" long. The bear tracks are woodburned and the bear is finished in acrylics. The cane has about 5-coats of oil based polyurethane on it to give it a long lasting finish.

Cool looking Bear Hiking staff Eddy. Your style of carving is definitely showing in this latest carving. He appears to be leading the way with that posture.

Hi Eddy,

I'm glad you're up to posting. Nice way to get back by posting one of your great bears, in this case, canes. The finish looks really polished.
