Great carving Doug, You and I are in the same boat that is why I originally started carving, so I could bring my cartoons to life. Great job!!. Keep the photos coming I can't wait to see the finished carving.

Nice job Doug! Translating a drawinf to a carving is not easy and you have done a great job.

Doug,
I love this dog, he looks like some of our old farm dogs when I was growing up. Great job.

Real nice carving. We got a dog in our neighborhood that looks almost like your cartoon.

Well, he has a tongue, different left ear, and teeth (one's busted, on purpose). I also have the flies done, we at least 3 of them. Now on to the fire hydrant, then the base! He'll be standing on a sidewalk and tied to a fire hydrant.

He has been fun and I named him Ol' Tick Licker after Daniel Boone's gun.

Do have a question though, should I give him a wash finish or opaque?

Would appreciate some feed back on finishes and maybe your favorite technique.

Thanks,
Doug
