| | Re: Bob Duncan's chainsaw carving Good Lord....what's the world coming to! Colin, you let that man handle a live chainsaw? I hope you had a barrier up surrounding him so he couldn't slip out and go wild!!!
I must say his results look impressive, even if he is a non-Canadian, and works in an office to boot!!! I'm glad Alfie hooked him onto Tim Hortons, one cup of that will keep him wired long enough to finish the carving. It sounds like you all are having a good visit and he does look to be taking his carving lessons serious like.
Have fun folks, and thanks for sharing the pics with us.

| | Re: Bob Duncan's chainsaw carving Thanks for sharing the photos Colin. Your influence is evident, and apparently, you're a very good teacher as well as a carver!
Colin's School of Chainsaw Carving!
From the sounds of the caffeine available, maybe I could even be a chainsaw carver there.
Good luck with the progress today. I look forward to seeing it in the next photos.

| | Re: Bob Duncan's chainsaw carving Colin, you are an excellent instructor, and, Bob, you are a quick study. The carving is excellent. Hope you took a truck to Canada that thing looks pretty big for the trunk of a car.
What make of chain saw are you using? That thing looks big.......and heavy. The only thing I use mine for is firewood, and these photos reminded me of the need to lay some in for this winter. Hard to contemplate that when the thermometer is hovering close to 100! I try to think of it as another form of carving; but.......! Sure is much nicer to carve in the airconditioned comfort of a closed-in porch. |

| | Re: Bob Duncan's chainsaw carving UHHHH----OHHHHH! Quick somebody alert the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania! ![001[1]2](http://www.woodcarvingillustrated.com/forum/images/smilies/001[1]2.gif) There's gonna be an invasion of Robertus Woodspiritis! This creature fears nothing as he doesn't even fear for his own safety (Thank goodness I live in New Jersey!)
Stay tuned!

| | Re: Bob Duncan's chainsaw carving This creature comes out of nowhere, eats all your food, ![006[1]](http://www.woodcarvingillustrated.com/forum/images/smilies/006[1].gif) drinks all your beer, uses your facilities, and before leaving, sculpts a strange (but very good looking) image ![004[1]](http://www.woodcarvingillustrated.com/forum/images/smilies/004[1].gif) looking an awful lot like guy with a moustache who just woke up after an all-nighter of drinking Canadian beer saying "Oh, my aching head! What was I thinking?!?!?" (And they say when you carve an image, it looks an awful lot like yourself--better grow that moustache, Bob!)
Nice job Colin--and imagine that, he's still in one piece--the Wood Spirit that is. (And you too Bob, nice job that is) LOL

| | Re: Bob Duncan's chainsaw carving Nicely done boys,
I guess when you go to the open house there will be 2 guys picking up the new G3200 from Brian for the detail work.
I came home from the cottage for a couple of days of appointments and then back up on Thursday.
Yak at you later,
Bob |
