| | Bob D's bracket Bob D was up to visit me this past Sunday. While he was here he did some carving on one of these brackets. He seemed a bit tentative at first, but once he got going,I like to think he had fun.I just delivered them today and will start the shell design and have this particular project finished.I got the approval for the design I wanted,,so off we go.Now if I could only get Bob back here to help carve this last piece,, I could go on to other pressing jobs,,,OHHHH Bob????? |

| | Re: Bob D's bracket Half a dozen ???,,I would have left you keep going,,once I saw just one of your cuts I said,,"you know what you're doing" and walked away.came back a bit later and said,"push that area down a bit",,walked away again. But then tell the truth,,we did some egg and dart,,the leaves,,talking and looking,,and,,,and,,,,and,,.If I get you here just to work on carving,,well,,,how many hours do you have? What do you want to work on?Want to work on some leaves?,,I've got a few hundred to do????? 'cmon back here,,you'll do more than a "half dozen" cuts, you'll be doing them in your sleep and they'll look great, I'm sure of it! LOL |

| | Re: Bob D's bracket I've picked up a book of drawings of architectural carvings...they show the face, and for some, they show a side profile. I'm going to figure out how to carve them now...to hone my eye!
If it wasn't a 1.5 hour drive, Mark...I'd be there in an instant <GRIN>

| | Re: Bob D's bracket Sure,,bring your wife,,mine is an Olympic level shopper,,crafts included,,to her it is an art! She'll be busy all day,,gives me a reason to work!
Here is the pattern for the shell.Just started it since my last post.I decided to do it like a relief,,which of course it is,,but this should look nice,,we'll see.
I'm also interested to see what type of bracket you're going to do.Bring that along as well,,nothing like having too much to carve!
