Default Blue Bird WIP

Here's what I've been doing for the past few days. No I haven't finished the Hood but I needed to fill a previous order. Still got a lot to do.

Dylan,
Great start, can't wait to see the finished product.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Dave, there's nothing that I can do about you looking bad. Talking

Wade; I argee with you, there's nothing like seeing it come together under your own hands.

Again thanks for the comments. Here's a few more pictures, I'll never get be able to keep the pictures up with the carving, so there's a little time delay, sort of thing.

Nicely done Dylan!

I should be seeing male bluebirds any day now. I've got their nesting boxes already for this year's crop of babies!

The males come north before the females do. They scope out potential nesting sites. When they find something to their liking, they'll sit at the top of a nearby tree and sing their hearts out hoping to attract a female.

When she finally shows up it's quite a sight watching her trying to make up her mind in which nesting box she'll set up house in.

Some years, the blues get quite a lot of competition from the tree swallows.
