This shows the tools I used for inletting the barrel.
The straight edge:
(square) for laying out the lines of the barrel walls and for checking
that surfaces remain true(straight and flat)
Caliper:
for setting the depth and width of barrel channel
Bench knife:
stop cut for barrel walls.
Rifler and various shape sanding blocks:
for straightening and cleaning channel walls
Other gouges:
used to escavate barrel channel

Interesting! Did you use lampblack for the inletting? About the escuthions for the pin. Why don't you just make them? Their easy and you can personalize them.

I'm always glad when a powder shotter gets into the history and traditions of what they are doing. I believe that scopes and centerfire black powder rifles have no place in the blackpowder season. But that's just me.

I used graphite to inlett the barrel verticals and will eventually glass bed the lower diagonals.
I looked for some Brass plates but they were just too much($) and my engraving skills are non-existent

I always shot open sight but that was cause i'm to poor to afford a scope.
I'm just doing the stock cause I don't want no ugly gun
