| | Believe it or not I'm home. Had the surgery at 1:30 pm on Wed. It's 12:10 pm Sunday and I'm sittin in front of this here dang computer. doin my thang. I had heard so many stories about how bad it could be, well let me tell you. First thing Thurs morning someone was at my bed sayin "get up we're goin for a walk". Needless to say I was more than a bit aprehensive but I got up, grabbded hold of the walker and went walkin, the guy said put yer weight on it and get r done, well sir, away we went. I still can't believe it but that's the truth. The pain was there for sure but certainly not unbearable and I reccomend that if yer havin hip trouble, go for it, it's well worth it in the end and the pain that I've suffered for the past 2 years is GONE, that quick. Thanks for the kind comments you posted under my son's post. I hope to get me some carvin goin tomorrow, I'm a little tierd right now. See ya'll later.

I had hip surgery about 10 years ago after a fall from a ladder. I've got three permanent 3" screws in it. I was on a walker and wheel chair for 3 months, then crutches for 3 months, then cane for three months. They started me on Physical therapy the second day in the hospital.
Glad you got through the surgery all right.

| | Re: Believe it or not Glad to have you back. Yes surgery is sometimes necessary. I used to be involved in the exercise field before I moved into health care. People I've known over the years have expressed what a difference they found after their hip surgery/replacement. Stay active Cliff...you have a lot of years ahead of you. The body is not designed to be static so keep moving.
