Good grief, Al ........ You've seen my shop. Don't I have ALL sorts of stuff? I have a 2" dowel. How much you need? I'll cut a chunk off extra long because it won't be clean or straight and mail it to you Monday morning.

Boy - are we in luck -- my chunk of 2" stuff is exactly 36" long so I'll mail it like that. Jerry nor I have the faintest idea what sort of wood it is .... it sure ain't bass. It's hard and heavy.
I sure hope it works for what you need.

OK, this will be the last of my baking for a while. Just popped this strawberry pie out of the "oven". Had to number the pieces because grandaughter is starting to count already. Up to "3" but hey, she's only 13 months old! I guess grandpa can brag if he wants!

OK, absolutely ( I think), no more baking after this one. I took Nancy's 2" dowell and used that for the "cup" parts of the baking pan. First they were glued to the underside of the pan, then they are bored out to 1 1/2" diameter, through the flat upper part.

Each cupcake is made from a length of 1 1/2" dia dowell with half a 2" diameter ball glued on top. The cherries are 1/2" Button plugs.

Thanks, Nancy!

Gee what a Blessed little Granddaughter.. I know children love the feel of wood.. I had a basketfull of wooden apples and they went to that every time. Even before they could talk they would bring the whole basket of apples to you.. one at a time .. Also had an elelphant puzzel .. Oh the food ones are so really neat.. What a good way to teach little ones with the bread and pasterys . Al ,your Grandchildren are very fortunate to have such a good Grandfather.. Charlotte
