Default Balls in cage

Here's one of the things I've carved lately. I've done more faces than anything lately but the kids have been snapping them up as fast as I carve them. Actually, my youngest asked for this but I had time to take a picture before it was gone.

Just checked out your website. Great work on the carvings and the website. I especially liked the first carving in the "Whimsey's" page. The one you did for your neighbor. The ball in cage with a chain. I am going to a cottage up north in August and I think this would be a good carving to past the time away sitting on the beach, porch, around the fire, or wherever. Hope you don't mind if I copy it?
Thanks again
Bob

Bob,

Feel free to use it. I doubt I'm the first to have done something like that so I don't lay claim to the pattern. I wish I'd used a longer piece so that I could have put more chain in it. But most of my carvings are from 1x1 that's 3-6 inches long. Occaisionally I make something a bit larger.

I like the design on this. I might have to give that a try. Enjoyed your website. Your faces on those tiny people are really good. "Dale Rules; Jeff Drools" Yea!!

Mike, that is a fantastic sample of the classic ball and cage. Very, Very well done! I have only carved a few over the years and nothing with the center twist that you have!

Tangermann had a ball in cage that I always wanted to carve. Instead of the ball he had a delightful little scottie dog. Perhaps I will give it a try after your inspiration.
