| | Back to carving ships, the Harper! After a 12 week, and three day, interlude of carving that bloody great Cedar sign, I'm happily back in the grove of once again carving a ship model. Some of you may remember this little barque I began during the winter, the Harper, and I'm happy to say I'm making progress on it once again. I'll keep you posted as I make progress that you can see.

| | Re: Back to carving ships! Looks great Bob nice to be back in your comfort zone I bet. I can relate I am carving some benches as we speak. The customer keeps making changes to the way he wants them and they are not the way I make benches. It is driving me absolutly crazy it is a never again. Only trouble is that I have two more to do. I cant wait to get back to carving tree's again back into my comfort zone. Hope all is well with you my friend I know we havent spoken in a while but it isnt because I dont think of you I do often.

| | Re: Back to carving ships! It has been a while since I was able to get some work done on this model, the Harper, but today I got down to serious business and developed the next phase, the sea the model will rest in! The ship is a long way from completion, so don't pay much attention to it yet, but the sea is coming along. The sea is carved in a piece of Basswood and I have just roughed out the sea swell so far. I'll get to the waves and ships wake soon.
It's coming! But as you can see by the start of this thread, I last worked on it in July. My, how time flies when yer havin' fun!
