Default Back to Carving

This is the first Relief Figure I've done and still need to work on different areas. The wood was an old end piece of cherry which had worm holes and bark at edges. David

Don't be shy, post a picture of it, please!

If you work it right, such things as knotholes, worm tracks and other such imperfections can add a lot of character to the piece.

They were too big of a file size, David. It doesn't matter how close you crop it, the file was too big. Are you on a PC or Mac? There's a great little utility for PC that is a free-add on from Microsoft. The link to it is here:

Picture size

Rob also gives some explanation.

What a wonderful relief!
I'm glad Bob was able to shrink it down to where we could see it.
Great dept, wonderful fabric folds, the faces are very calm and the whole piece is just really pretty. The cherry post sure found another life through your work.
Congrats on a very fine piece.
Thor
