Your 'Baby Fat' project is soooo cute! Don't know what the little guy is eating, but he'd better loose some weight before he attempts his first flight! Ha! very original idea and great carving...can't imagine how much time and effort the feathers must have taken... Had to laugh about your dog trying to get to your carving, my little female boxer thinks every carving I do is for her so I have to put them up really high to keep her from taking them back to her toy box!!! Again, very nice carving - thanks for sharing him with us!

I thank you all for your comments. My concern was painting it. I have a friend that is a wonderful bird carver and I was very concerned that my painting would be up to snuff.

My wife who is a great artist herself just looked at me and said, "Is it a bird or a cartoon, if it's a bird you want then you carved it wrong, if it's a cartoon then paint it like a cartoon." That wisdom of some wife's is maddening.

That's a great little bird, Paul. Good job! I especially like how you took the concept from start to finish. Supplying us with a photo of the inspiration gives a good look at how you developed the idea.
