Default "Attention Students..."

"...Class is in session."
This is my new WIP. Her name is Ms. Milfoil. She will be a large jointed doll and a 29 year old Spinster School Marm. She is carved from a piece of Hardrock Maple with power tools and hand tools.
I like her lips and love her honker, and the eyes...welll...they are not so bad. going at them slowly. My husband says I do great jowels...
Any feedback is very much welcomed!

Keoma, I'll bet this will turn out to be a real keeper. I think if we can remember, we all had a teacher that looks like her. But, now that I mentionned the word "her". The first chance you get you may want to cut a chip off, and have it analyzed for X and Y chromosomes. With an adams apple like "she" has there just might be a question raised. But lookin good!

Thanx Tom! I had to add the ! I used to have teachers that were so androgynous that all the students would whisper and wonder. Besides I was going for gawky and awkward...
I will clothe her in a long black period dress with a high collar, but make sure her neck is still really long and stands high above it. She'll also have really long gangly arms and long legs with huge feet in high buckled period as well shoes. I think under her bloomers and petticoats will be some black fish nets.

lol...I had a history teacher...yikes! And an english teacher...double yikes!
Her body will be wood. Hinged at the shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and cankles...I mean ankles.
Looking at her gives me an idear though...you know those medievil cudgels they used to carve? ha ha...you know back in the day...waaaay back like in viking times? They would look like something but be a real head bonker...She could be one And maybe I will carve one...now THAT would be fun to have at Ren Faires! Need to Google them and see some old pictures...I think they would be fun to make. Maybe i could update it a bit...since I am not much of a hording head smasher...but maybe I could make a mallet? Just brainstorming. I love when that happens...now I will get no house work done For Sure!

hehe, no housework gets done, well that sounds very familiar, lol lol ... hi keoma, i enjoy seeing your approach of learning carve faces :-) looks like tons of fun !! saw your witch for hairstick too, nice idea... since you asked for feedback, here is a simple thing you might want consider. easy and quickly to do and will give even more character to your nice lady: look at ms milfoil from side. you see just a very tad bit the corners of her eyes, right ? now make a few cuts there to bring this corner much farther back. in essence you would round more the face, and when you did that you will be surprised, very positively :-)
(... so why i suggest that, you ask yourself, yes see, the eye is a ball, essentially, and what we can see is a small part of that ball, and so the corners of eye are much farther back on head than the place where the pupil goes... if you have someone willing to let you do that, look at him from top view . what do you see ? you see the head is round from top view, and the outer corners of eye area are pretty far back !) ...
love the noses you do, really neat with lots of character...
(please, feel free to ask me more, if i was not saying clear...:-)

This also enabled me to see and do the cheekbones. I always had such a hard time with that before! DORIS! I think I am finally out of my blockhead stage! (My parents have been waiting for that for yeeeears )

Now, Heres hoping I can replicate it on the other side...I might have to rename this one and call it "Turn the Other Cheek"
